With 2 road losses last week, UNLV dropped to 22-6 overall & 6-4 in Mt. West play, 2 full games out of contention for the league crown. Of course that effected our national ranking & the Runnin' Rebels fell from #11 in both polls to #20 in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches poll & #21 in the AP poll. Both polls were released Monday afternoon.

It happened! It ACTUALLY happened! Pretty much the ONLY way UNLV still had a shot at the Mt West regular season title was if New Mexico went into San Diego and handed the Aztecs their 2nd loss in less then a week.
Now that the Lobos did their part, UNLV & New Mexico are the ONLY 2 schools in the conference that control their own destiny. That means if UNLV can run the table over their last 5 games we will not only finish the season with an INCREDIBLE 27-5 record but we would capture the #1 seed in the Mt West tournament here in Vegas March 7th-10th.
