I recently read If you get paid for doing what you love, every paycheck is a bonus That’s how I feel about being on the radio! I can t imagine doing anything else.
Every once in awhile when my alarm wakes me up at 3am,I do have to remind myself that I could be back in Pasadena working at my dad s diner! Actually that was a fun time in my life where I received my official training for my job today talking with people from all walks of life.
The road to doing morning radio in Las Vegas has been an exciting journey! From Bishop, California to Mammoth Mountain, Sacramento and finally Las Vegas, were I have been waking up the city for many years! When young men approach me, and I think for a second that maybe, they just might be flirting with me, and then I hear I met you when I was in the first grade on Halloween I know I’ve been here a long time!
Being on the air has allowed me to work with some great organizations that benefit the Las Vegas community. As Honorary Race Chair for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, I’ve had the opportunity to support those that have been affected by this disease. Other organizations include supporting Opportunity Village with Melanie s Closet providing gently used clothes to women re-entering the workplace as well as The American Cancer Society, Boys Hope Girls Hope and the Clark County Reading program just to name a few.
Hosting galas, working with clients, and being The Voice of The Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino are just a couple other aspects about my job that I enjoy. I have endorsed many products and companies, including Lexus, Max Factor and The Style Network. I have even put my name on a few such products as The Melanie Jewelry Collection and The Melanie Mattress. An experience I will never ever forget was being a Celebrity Guest Actress in the acclaimed Broadway Play The Vagina Monologues by award winning playwright Eve Ensler.
I am almost always Star Struck when I get to interview celebrities like Bette Midler, Jon Bon Jovi, Celine Dion, Bryan Adams, Jerry Seinfeld and Andre Aggasi, and many others, but my favorite and most memorable moment was taking listeners to Chicago to meet Oprah! Receiving a Key To The City by Mayor Oscar Goodman, and winning Best Radio Personality in The Review Journals Best of Las Vegas for several years in a row, have been special awards that I feel honored to have received.
I manage to stay pretty busy, that s why I am in awe of working moms who do it all .I try to visit with friends and family in and out of town. My Godchildren, nieces and nephews are precious to me and I adore them. It makes me smile when they listen on-line and tell their friends “That’s my Auntie M. She’s on the radio in Las Vegas!!!!”
I hope for many more years to come!

Talk about a cliffhanger. A naked woman was rescued after she got stranded on a San Diego cliff on Tuesday, reported Fox5SanDiego.com. The woman, who was not identified in the report, was unharmed. But it took rescuers 30 minutes to rig a series of ropes to harness the woman. A lifeguard helped her rappel to the beach. Maurice Luque, a spokesman from the San Diego Fire and Rescue Department, said people get stranded on the trails above Black’s Beach “all the time,” and the woman will not be charged for the rescue.  A daytime landscape without Erica Kane? Say it ain't so! A source close to 'All My Children' has confirmed that the series is in jeopardy.
ABC could make an announcement regarding the fate of 'All My Children' as soon as today or tomorrow. Despite it being a bigger brand, 'AMC's' sagging ratings has put the series on the chopping block.
If 'AMC' is canceled, ABC could move 'One Life to Live' to California. Deadline notes ABC may replace 'AMC' with a talk show, similar to what CBS did with 'As the World Turns.'
